Tom's Story

Hi, I’m Tom. Tom, the cat or Tomcat (sorry I couldn’t resist!). As you can see from the photo, I have the most beautiful black and white markings. I’m a stunner. But in all fairness I should mention that the photo doesn’t properly reveal my hardy size. Thankfully black is slimming, as I’m quite overweight. You see, I love to eat. And you guessed it, I’m not a picky eater and am only too happy to tell you when I’m ready for my next meal.
 
I’m a very loving, friendly cat who’s fine being left alone, but my favourite thing is sitting on my foster mom’s lap and keeping her company. I also love it when she brushes me… that’s heaven. She says that one of my unique gifts (and I have plenty) is that I’m constantly purring. Now who doesn’t love an affectionate purring cat? That’s me.
 
I’m a very clean cat and constantly grooming myself. My need for cleanliness means that I'd like two frequently cleaned litter boxes. Oh, and the litters box should be big (remember I’m a big boy) with shallow lips so it’s easy for me to jump in and do my visiting (otherwise things can get pretty messy).
 
I'm a pretty easy going man when it comes to other house guests. I don't love a crazy household, but I appreciate having the company of other animals and respectful kids. I've lived with other dogs and cats before, and while my cat buddy and I mostly ignored each other, it was still nice to have someone around.

I'm still a pretty playful cat, I like toy mice and I will pounce on them and then bunny kick. Does that toy mouse have catnip on it? even better!! My family says that playing will help me lose weight. I definitely need a family who is committed to my weight loss journey and who will interact with me so that I can stay active. The humans say I also need a family who won't give in to my need for constant snacks, but I think that's ridiculous.
