Hi! I'm Simba, and I think we are going to be best friends. I was surrendered to ARTS to be euthanised because I'm diabetic, but the nice vet person knew that I had a lot of love left to give, so they brought me home. Sure enough after some careful managing of my diet and exercise, I don't need any insulin at all! So long as you feed me appropriately and monitor my blood sugar, we should be all good. The vet also removed a lump on my forehead, which is why my head looks dirty in some of the pictures, but the stitches are out now and I'm a happy and healthy boy.
I'm being fostered with lots of other kitties and I don't mind them. I met some dogs at the vet clinic and they weren't so bad either. As for kids, I don't love being picked up and very young kids would probably be too much for me, but I'm outgoing enough that a family with kids who respect my autonomy would do just fine.
Although I don't love being picked up, I'm very friendly and I do enjoy a cuddle. I'm not one of those cats that is always in your face though, in fact I'm just the right mix of social but independent.
Don't be fooled by my age, i'm an active boy and I still really enjoy playing and going on adventures. You might have seen a stroller in one of my photos, and no joke, I LOVE going for rides. I really don't like the crate but the stroller is a whole different thing. I'm always ready to go for a walk with you so I can watch the world go by. The humans say that my foster parents are very indulgent for letting me walk around the neighbourhood on my throne, but they are just jealous.
I have had one accident in the house but that was only to show the humans where I wanted my litterbox. Since then i've been a good boy and in general I have good house manners.
