Polar's Story

​

Hi there! My name is Polar. My foster mom calls me polar bear. Although I cannot actually hear her, as I am almost completely deaf. 

​

I am a lovely boy, with a calm loving nature.  I do wish I could speak and tell my foster mom some things about my past as I am quite skittish, even with my foster family.

​

I am 16 years old but don’t let my age fool you, as I still have lots of energy. I love going for walks and play time. Sometimes I even get the zoomies and race around the yard and house. My favourite toy is a tennis ball and I love playing fetch with my foster family. 

​

I am looking for a home that will be patient with me. I do have the occasional accident as I am not the best at telling my foster mom I need out. My foster mom thinks that with some consistent training this will improve.

​

I am a very good boy but I do not like when my person leaves me. I get very stressed, pace the house, and cry. My new person needs to be home most of the time. I mostly sleep in my crate; it is my safe space. 

​

I live with a small dog and we get along very well. I am not food aggressive with him but will eat his food if left unattended. At the dog park I am very friendly with humans and dogs but I prefer to sniff rather than play with the other dogs. 

​

I love having fresh fruits and vegetables, I get so excited that my whole body vibrates in anticipation. 

Although I can do stairs most days, at my age a new home with not very many stairs would be preferable. I do love going for car rides but may need assistance getting into larger vehicles. I am not a barker but I do cry when my person leaves so a detached home is best. My new home must have a fenced yard. Because I am skittish a home with no children is a must. I am on a special diet for mobility.
