Hello Everyone, My name is Mosby. I have recently come to ARTS when my owner passed away so I am searching for a new family who I can share all my love with.
I am 11 years young neutered male and in very good health. My blood work came back purrrfect from the vet. I am a big cat size wise but not over weight and the vet made a comment about how nice my teeth are, so with crunchy treats we should be able to keep the tarter at bay keeping them pearly white.
I am a really easy keeper, I get wet food mixed with a bit of water once a day and my dry food is left out all day for me to self-feed as I want. I eat Go! duck dry kibble and so far all the types of wet food that my foster mother feeds me. I am currently using a pine pellet litter and I keep it all in the box when I do my business so you don’t have to sweep up behind me as I like to keep my space clean.
I have never lived with other cats or dogs, but my foster mom has them. I really don't like sharing my space though, and I get a bit on the defensive side so I am looking to be the only animal in the house.
I am a very confident and curious guy who did not take too long to settle into my foster home, so once we meet I will start to warm up almost right away. I love head scratches and chin rubs and if you leave your hand in front of my nose I will even rub my nose against your hand making it easy for you as I will self-pet.
I do need to be an indoor cat but I love being outside so much. My foster home has a catio that I spend lots of time in so if you would be willing to set up a large wire dog crate at a window so I can go in and out on my own or convert a chicken coop for me that would be amazing. I know that is a big ask so as a backup plan my foster mom has been working with me to leash train me, so far she says I am a rock star! I stay still to have my harness put on and will follow her right out the door to start my adventures rolling in the grass, smelling the flowers, watching the birds and napping in the sun. I still need to work on going where you want me to as I tend to get side tracked by smells and might not always want to go back in the house. I am also crate trained, if you open the door to the crate I will just walk right in with no issues. My foster mom says I am a bit like a dog instead of a cat.
I hope you will consider adopting me, you can apply here and if you have any question please reach out to the team at ARTS.
