Mopsie & Toby's Story
Hello, we are Mopsie and Toby, and we are the sweetest boys-our foster mom says so, so it has to be true! My name is Mopsie, i'm the little Japanese Chin X Crested mix. Toby and I are related through our crested side. I'm the older of the two at age 10, so I'll do the talking.
We are both fun loving little dogs. We love to go on walks, especially if there are squirrels! We are good boys on leash, but my brother Toby is working on some leash reactivity around other dogs and bikes. He's been practicing sitting and getting treats instead of barking, and so far the training is going really well! He is much more polite now, but would benefit from someone who is committed to working on his positive reinforcement training.
Toby and I love to run around the yard and play chase or tug with a stuffy. You'd never know I was 10 years old! I can even jump up on the couch for a nap without any problems. I have this thing called congestive heart failure, but it really doesn't slow me down at all. I do have one naughty habit though, which is that I sometimes like to mark in the house. My foster family solves this problem by putting a belly band on me. They call it my cummerbund, and really, it's a good opportunity for more cute accessories.
My brother Toby, who has less hair than me, is all about accessorizing with coats and curling up in comfy blankets. He loves human attention even more than me, and if you forget to pet him don't worry- he'll remind you by tapping you with his paw. Him and I will curl up in our crate at the end of a long day, but if you'll let us, we'll happily snuggle up on the bed with you for a cuddle, especially Toby.
We make good guard dogs as we like to supervise the neighbourhood through the window and alert you about passer-by's. Detached housing may be best. We haven't met cats and we do like to chase small things, but given that most cats are the same size as us, a dog savvy cat in the house might be okay. Other puppy friends would be fine, and we don't mind respectful children, as long as they remember how little we are.
All in all, our foster family says we are the bestest boys and a total joy to have around. We will love you and give you lots of kisses. Do you love us back? If you do, please consider applying to adopt us. You can apply here. Can’t wait to meet you!
