Hi there everyone. My name is Mama and I am currently looking for a new home. I am about 12 years old and came to ARTS after the sudden death of my old pawrent. I was so nervous of all the changes when I first arrived but after a bit I have settled into my foster home.
Since I came to ARTS I have had some health challenges. There was a lot of concern about my breathing and after a couple of vet visits and a number of x-rays it was determined that I had pneumonia. I have had antibiotics and dewormer and some other nasty tasting stuff, but now I am in pretty good shape. I had some rotten teeth and a couple of weeks ago had 10 teeth removed, but I am healing well from that and now my breath is minty fresh. My blood work is good but the vets do say that my lungs have some chronic damage, which doesn't effect me but my new people will just have to be a bit more aware of my breathing and get me in for a vet visit if there seems to be a concern.
I am a bit overweight, but who isn't after all this Covid isolation? I have lost some weight but a new family will need to continue to work on that. I am currently eating some wet cat food and some dry weight loss food. Of course I expect a few Temptation treats every day (but that doesn't mean you have to give them to me!)
I would like to live with someone who is willing to let me snuggle and watch TV. Well, I will sleep and snore while you watch TV, just so long as we can do it together. I don't care for doggies one bit and I am currently being fostered with a younger kitty, but she's not my favourite. I would prefer to be an only pet, but the ARTS people said they would be happy to discuss me living with another low-key cat.
Since I arrived in my foster home I have learned to jump onto the couch or the bed for cuddles and I can go up and down the stairs now (I was too beefy to do it before). I still can't do the counters, but perhaps that is a blessing- at least according to my foster mom. I have good litterbox manners and all in all i'm a very easy keeper.
Any chance I could come to live with you for my remaining years? It might take me a little while to settle into a new home, but I promise to give you lots of love and purrs.
Please apply here if you think we should meet.
