Duke's Story

Meet Duke! This handsome dude might look familiar to you- he was previously adopted out and returned when his owner could no longer take care of him. We work very hard to make sure that our adopters can keep their new family members forever, but sometimes things happen. All of the ARTS animals will always have a place with us if need be.

Now on to our gorgeous house panther. Duke is a small sweet curious cat who gets along with everybody. He loves being brushed and rolled daily with a lint roller. Sometimes he will give the lint roller a nudge to let you know you his coat is waiting for you to shine up. It makes cleaning cat hair a breeze.

He would like his litter cleaned daily and will meow at you if you forget. He's a bit of a prince that way, but as long as you keep his box clean he has zero litterbox issues. He would also like a clean fresh bowl of water available at all times. Of course your animals should always have access to clean fresh water, but Duke especially would like his topped up regularly.

Our sweet house panther has aspirations of being an adventure cat but he is not an outside kitty . He does loves going onto the deck and exploring while supervised though. Aside from daily brushing and some time outside, Duke loves to play with the laser dot. He starts roaring and jumping around like a kitten. You would never guess that he is 13 when the laser pointer comes out.

Unfortunately Duke had very early stage kidney disease, as a lot of older cats do. Nothing at this point to worry about, but his adopter would want to have his kidney values tested regularly.  He should also continue on urinary support food which can be purchased from any vet clinic.

Duke gets along great with his big doggy foster brother George. Duke won't hesitate to lay down for a nap on top of either George or whoever is close by. Hopefully you don't mind having a lap cat around! If Duke sounds like your new perfect family member, Please apply here to meet him.
