Cloud's Story

Cloud is our biggest-little character at ARTS. His small legs don't stop him from doing anything he sets his mind to. He is an adventurer and likes to climb; for a larger bodied dog he is surprisingly agile.

Cloud is looking for a home where he can be himself. In his case, an acreage or farm would be best as he is a barker when he sees other dogs outside of his home. He will definitely need detached housing, no condos or apartments for him. He has a surprisingly loud bark for a little body.

Cloud gets along great with the other dogs in his foster home. They range in size from tiny chihuahuas to a lab cross. As far as we know he has never been tested with cats but may be just fine. We were told he has some resource guarding behaviours but we have not seen any in his foster home as of yet.

When Cloud isn't adventuring he is an excellent fluffy rug- ready for a nap anywhere. This gentle boy loves to sleep on the end of the bed at night. He will sometimes patrol from one bedroom to the next to make sure everyone is tucked in for the night and then settles in himself.

Cloud will need a disciplined human who can help him with his weight loss and food intake. He will also get into things if he is bored and is currently crated when he cannot be supervised. He will try his best to get to any food source, so his food and yours must be kept out of reach (and with his long body, that means not near the edge of counters).

Unlike most small dogs Cloud enjoys the winter and likes to eat snow instead of drink regular water. His foster family also adds water to his meals to help ensure he gets enough fluids. As a bichon mix Cloud will need regular grooming. He weighs between 35-40 lbs but is only roughly 16-18 inches tall at the shoulder.

Cloud is a happy boy who will become your constant companion. If you think you may have the right home for this sweet boy, please apply here and one of our adoption coordinators will reach out.
